Local Firefighter Competes in Race Across America

Timothy Case, professional firefighter for the City of Boulder, will be competing in the 2008 Race Across America in the solo division as a member of the Team Strong Heart organization.
Team Strong Heart, which is a collection of bicycle racers and supporters whose goal is to raise $100,000 in tax deductible donations for Camp Odayin, located in northern Minnesota. Camp Odayin provides residential, day and family camp experiences for children with heart disease. The camp offers the opportunity to strengthen self-confidence, gain independence, develop life skills, and meet other young people with similar health, emotional and social concerns. Team Strong Heart was organized in 2006 for the purpose of completing the 2007 Race Across America bicycle race, www.raceacrossamerica.org. The Race Across America has been termed the "world's toughest sporting event," by Outside magazine. It is a bicycle race that covers approximately 3,100 miles, 110,000 feet of climbing and 15 states.
